Commercial agents in LA: the agencies, and how to get one

Most commercials in Los Angeles are cast through two sites: Casting Networks (LA Casting) and Casting Frontier. You create a profile on each, then either submit yourself for roles or your commercial agent submits you. Agents see far more of the breakdowns, which is why nearly every working commercial actor in LA has one.

Below are the Los Angeles talent agencies with a commercial department, from the Secret Actor Society agent database (checked against IMDbPro, September 2026). Each name links to the agency's own site, where the submissions policy lives.

How to get a commercial agent in Los Angeles

  1. Get commercial headshots: bright, friendly, looking like you on a good day. What headshots do actors need?
  2. Make a profile on Casting Networks and Casting Frontier and start self-submitting. A few auditions on your record makes the pitch easier.
  3. Pick ten to twenty agencies from the list below whose rosters have your type and stage, and check each one's submissions page.
  4. Send a short pitch email with your headshot, resume and a 20 second slate or commercial reel. Follow up about a week later. How to email an acting agent.
  5. Take the meeting with a printed headshot and resume, and ask how they want to work with you.

Agencies move, merge and close books. Always read an agency's own submissions page before you send anything, and never pay an agency to represent you.

Want the agents, not just the agencies?

Secret Actor Society members get the Los Angeles Commercial Agents 2026 list: the named commercial agents at each agency, with IMDbPro links and direct emails where published, re-verified in September 2026. Plus the Journey masterclass on signing with an agent and manager you love.

Questions actors ask

How do commercial agents in LA find clients?

Mostly through referrals and submissions. Most LA commercial agencies accept emailed submissions with a headshot, resume and a link to your commercial reel or slate, and some have a form on their website. Check each agency's own submissions page before you send anything.

Do I need a commercial agent to book commercials in Los Angeles?

No, but it helps a lot. Most LA commercial auditions are released on Casting Networks (LA Casting) and Casting Frontier, and agents see breakdowns that are not open to self-submission. Many actors start by self-submitting on those two sites and sign with a commercial agent once they have a few auditions behind them.

Can I have a commercial agent and a separate theatrical agent?

Yes. In Los Angeles it is normal to have one agency for commercials and a different agency or manager for film and TV. Many of the agencies above do both; others are commercial only.

How much commission does a commercial agent take?

A SAG-AFTRA franchised agent takes 10 percent of what you earn on union jobs they book. Nobody legitimate charges you a fee to sign.
