Most actors aren't short on talent. They're short on information and access. Nobody explains how agents actually work, what casting directors want, how to pitch yourself or how to make the money last while you build.
So in 2020 we started Secret Actor Society: a library of practical classes, live sessions with casting directors and working professionals, and a community of actors at every stage who cheer each other on. Our experts and guests share more than 5,000 professional film and TV credits between them.
Founder
Kym is an Australian actress who has worked in Hollywood for twenty years, with more than 80 feature film and TV credits including This Is Us, S.W.A.T. and NCIS: Los Angeles. Her most recent theatrical release was NEON and Vertical Entertainment's We Bury The Dead opposite Daisy Ridley, which premiered at SXSW.
She is the author of The Hollywood Survival Guide For Actors, a member of the Television Academy, SAG-AFTRA and American MENSA, and has taught for SAG-AFTRA, MEAA, Women in Film and Spotlight. As a SAG-AFTRA convention delegate in 2022 she co-authored the resolution to limit self-tape lengths, which became a talking point in the 2023 negotiations.
Co-founder and President
Andrew is an award-winning, NIDA-trained actor who has worked in theatre, film and television in Australia and the US, including Home and Away, Wonderland and Days of Our Lives, plus four seasons of Wind in the Willows with the Australian Shakespeare Company.
He played the lead in Wish Man, the story of Make-A-Wish founder Frank Shankwitz, opposite Bruce Davison, Tom Sizemore and Danny Trejo. It screened at Cannes and Toronto and spent months in Netflix's global top 10. Andrew was also President of Flicks4Change, a socially conscious film festival that connected hundreds of non-profits with filmmakers. At SAS he usually hosts our monthly casting director Q&As.
Career strategy sessions
Chuti is a Filipina-Chinese-American actress, writer and producer based in LA. Her credits include Expats opposite Nicole Kidman, Yellowstone, How To Get Away With Murder, Nashville, 24 and the series regular role in Desire. She wrote and starred in Pretty Rosebud, which won Best Actress and Best Screenplay awards on the festival circuit.
A Northwestern graduate who turned down a Columbia master's program to act, Chuti hosts many of our career strategy sessions.
Mindset coach
Patti is a Meisner-trained actress (Selfie, The Last Tycoon), mentor and speaker who works on the inner side of an acting career: rejection, comparison, fear and the feeling of waiting for permission.
She runs our live Mindset and Manifestation Hour, open to every membership level, and her past sessions are in the library whenever you need a reset.
Career strategy sessions
Ron has more than 140 TV episodes and three dozen films to his name, including 24, Six Feet Under, Desperate Housewives, NCIS: Los Angeles, Copycat and Cellular, plus over 75 plays and musicals.
He is also a theatre director with more than 35 credits, and spent over ten years with The Blank Theatre Company as a director, producer, actor and company casting director. Ron hosts career strategy sessions for members from time to time.
